Coach O was born and raised in New York City and played varsity baseball at Beacon High School where he was the Ace of the pitching staff. After throwing multiple no-hitters his senior year he earned a scholarship as a RHP to play at Keystone College in Pennsylvania. After two years Omar’s baseball career ended after sustaining two elbow injuries the first requiring ulnar nerve surgery and the second requiring Tommy John.
After his baseball career ended he transferred the discipline the sport had instilled in him to calisthenics. Coach O competed and won over 15 calisthenics competitions all over the United States between 2019-2022. He has taught workshops on strength and endurance in numerous countries and eventually opened New York City’s first and only Calisthenics gym “Limitless NYC” in SoHo as well its non-profit arm “Stronger Together” with Coach Joe.
While strength, conditioning and endurance are necessary for athletes across all sports, Omar believes the real training is of the mind, heart and spirit. The real strength and awareness gained is for every day life not just helping athletes improve at their sport or change their physiques, those aspects are simply a by-product. Today Omar works with youth encouraging them to remain disciplined, honest and accountable while helping them build the grit and resilience necessary to handle all of life’s challenges on and off the field.
